About Us

SnakeChaarmer Herpetological was dreamed up by Leigh Propper, who began her collection in 2003 in Jacksonville, FL. Her primary focus was incorporating her pets into art as dance partners in middle eastern dance performances. As most snake keepers know, "snakes are like potato chips, you can't have just one". Year after year Leigh added to her collection and grew especially fond of all things black and white, the anerythristic and axanthic designer morphs of various snake species, especially ball pythons and corn snakes.

Leigh now resides on a farm outside of Gainesville in North Central Florida. She maintains her own "private zoo", with horses, cats, turtles, fish, geckos, St. Bernards and of course all of the snakes. She works both full time "real" jobs and full time "animal" jobs, but couldn't imagine life without all of the animals. Leigh has extensive experience in animal science and care; has a strong background in veterinary care and science, biology, and laboratory science. Leigh hopes to one day work with the University of Florida and volunteer her laboratory training to help find a cure for IBD.

Most important to know is that we pride ourselves on the special care and personal interest in all of our snakes. It's very difficult for us to sell our snakes, as we'd love to keep all of them! We treat them all as members of the family, they are all named and are enjoyed as pets just like the cats and dogs. We think this caring, social atmosphere really helps with the personalities and temperaments of our collection and their offspring. We also feel very strongly about avoiding in-breeding in all of the species projects we deal with and we strive to avoid it when possible. We maintain records and photos, weights and perintent information about all of our animals on iHerp. All of these factors attribute to maintaining, breeding, and selling quality animals for your pet or breeding purposes.
